Portsmouth Man Arrested for Endangering Children

NEWS RELEASE

Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman states that his office sent out a news release on July

25, 2022 involving the arrest of Kimberly Mae Polachek for rape involving juveniles.


Sheriff Thoroughman stated that new information was provided to Detective Sgt. Jodi Conkel

and the Scioto County Prosecutor’s Special Victim Unit yesterday morning (July 27th ) around

1:30 am. The new information resulted in the interview of three victims who implicated that

Kimberly Polachek’s husband was involved in some of the incidents.


Detectives responded to the suspect’s apartment, located at 1923 Thomas Ave. Apt B

Portsmouth, Ohio. Detectives recovered new evidence which resulted in the suspect being

detained without incident. As a result of the new information and the interview of the suspect he

was arrested and booked in the Scioto County Jail.


Arrested was Dusty A. Polachek, age 31, of 1923 Thomas Ave., Apt B, Portsmouth, Ohio.

Polachek has been charged with three counts of Endangering Children, a felony of the 2nd degree, three counts of Corrupting Another with Drugs, a felony of the 3rd degree, two counts of

Disseminating Matter Harmful to a Juvenile, a felony of the 4th degree, one count of

Disseminating Matter to a Juvenile, a felony of the 5th degree, Attempted Sexual Battery, a felony of the 4th degree, and Importuning, a felony of the 5th degree. Polachek is being held in the Scioto County Jail on a $ 247,500.00 and will appear in Portsmouth Municipal Court on Thursday, July 28, 2022.


Sheriff David Thoroughman stated this is still an ongoing investigation that could result in more

charges being filed on a later date and that anyone with information regarding this case should
