Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman announces that the Southern Ohio Organized & Major Crimes Task Force assisted the Adult Parole Authority in conducting Sex Offender house checks on Monday October 31, 2022.
The house checks are completed to verify that the Registered Sex Offenders are in compliance to their probation as to not be taking part in trick or treating Sheriff Thoroughman stated that Task Force Agents and the Adult Parole Authority completed 8 compliance checks in Wheelersburg, New Boston, Portsmouth and West Portsmouth area. They also completed 4 compliance checks on High Risk offenders in the area.
Sheriff Thoroughman stated that all sex offenders were in compliance and that one of the High Risk Offenders was arrested for violation of his parole due to having suspected Fentanyl and drug related items.
Arrested was Johnny Shane Warner from 2017 7th Street Portsmouth Ohio for Parole Violation. Additional charges will be presented to the Scioto County Grand Jury for consideration.
