Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman stated that on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at
approximately 3:14 am the 911 Communication Center received a call from Southern Ohio
Medical Center stating that they had two victims show up at the hospital with stab wounds.
Sheriff Thoroughman stated that a deputy responded to the hospital to obtain information and
they requested a detective, who responded to SOMC. One victim was transported by air to an
out-of-town hospital and the other victim was treated and released by Southern Ohio Medical
Center.
Sheriff Thoroughman stated several witnesses were located and questioned. The investigation
revealed that the stabbing incident took place at 1032 Shephard Fork Road West Portsmouth,
Ohio. Both, deputies and detectives responded to this location and obtained a search warrant to
process the crime scene. As a result of the investigation, one male was detained for further
investigation.
Arrested was Kevin E. Pack, age 51, of 1032 Shephard Fork West Portsmouth, Ohio. Pack has
been charged with Attempted Murder, a felony of the 1 st degree, and two counts of Felonious
Assault, a felony of the 2nd degree. Pack is being held in the Scioto County Jail on a $125.000.00
bond and will appear in Portsmouth Municipal Court on Thursday, March 20, 2025.
Sheriff David Thoroughman stated that this is still an ongoing investigation that will result in
more charges being presented to the Scioto County Grand Jury on a later date. Anyone with
